CLIENT BILL OF RIGHTS

Los Feliz Detox Center

At Los Feliz Detox Center, we are committed to providing ethical, compassionate, and high-quality care. In accordance with California Senate Bill 349 (HSC Section 11857.2), every client and prospective client has the following rights:

  1. Dignity and Respect: To be treated for the life-threatening, chronic disease of substance use disorder with honesty, respect, and dignity, including privacy in treatment and in the care of personal needs.

     
  2. Informed Consent: To be informed by Los Feliz Detox Center of all aspects of recommended treatment, including the option of no treatment, the risks associated with treatment, and the expected results.

     
  3. Qualified Staff: To be treated by qualified staff members who meet all state and professional licensing and certification requirements.

     
  4. Evidence-Based Care: To receive evidence-based treatment that meets current professional standards for substance use disorder recovery.

     
  5. Co-occurring Treatment: To be treated simultaneously for co-occurring behavioral health conditions, when medically appropriate and when our facility is authorized to treat such conditions.

     
  6. Individualized Planning: To receive an individualized, outcome-driven treatment plan tailored to your specific needs and recovery goals.

     
  7. Continuity of Care: To remain in treatment for as long as Los Feliz Detox Center is authorized and medically appropriate to treat the client.

  8. Family Support: To receive support, education, and treatment for your families and loved ones, as authorized by our treatment program.

     
  9. Safe and Ethical Environment: To receive care in a treatment setting that is safe, healthful, comfortable, and maintained to high ethical standards.

  10. Freedom from Abuse: To be free from mental and physical abuse, exploitation, coercion, and physical restraint.

     
  11. Access to Information: To be informed of these rights upon enrollment and to receive a written copy for your records.

  12. Right to Complain: To be informed of the law regarding complaints and the process for filing a grievance without fear of retaliation.

     

Filing a Complaint

If you believe your rights have been violated, you have the right to file a complaint with the California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS):
